Watchdog says 22% of dairy products in Russia counterfeit ‘18
MOSCOW, May 8 (PRIME) -- About 22% of Russian dairy products were counterfeit in 2018, the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight said in a report late on Tuesday.
“According to the Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Oversight, 21.6% of the entire amount of checked dairy products was counterfeit, which means that each fifth product on the shelf does not correspond to the contents stated by the producer,” the authority said.
The service suggested including dairy products in the list of goods subject to obligatory veterinary certification in order to solve the issue.
